Barn Cottage is a charming 17th Century stone cottage which nestles in a fantastic location right at the heart of Crakehall, a friendly, idyllic and award winning village, overlooking the expansive and picturesque village green. Retaining its original character the cottage has been extensively modernised providing very well equipped accommodation which is furnished to a high standard with attention to detail and many personal touches. Access to a delightful private garden and patio at the rear of cottage is perfect for relaxing and al-fresco dining on warmer days.

Stairs leading to first floor landing with three steps up to:
Bedroom 1: spacious with king size bed, TV and DVD player.
Bedroom 2: with 4ft bed.
Three steps from the landing to:
Bathroom: with electric shower over bath, separate hand held shower attachment, WC, basin, heated towel rail and shaver point.

All fuel, power, bed linen and towels included. Selection of books, local walking books, DVDs, CDs, jigsaws and games. Travel cot, highchair and upstairs stairgate available on request. Garage with chest freezer and tumble dryer.


Private and enclosed garden. Patio to rear of cottage with barbeque area. Gas barbeque and garden furniture provided. No smoking in the cottage. Private parking for one car to the rear of cottage but access is very narrow. Additional parking to front of cottage alongside village green.

About the local area

Crakehall is the gateway to Wensleydale and boasts an impressive manor house, church, cricket club and quoits club. The village inn is only a few steps away and the well-stocked village shop is a two minute stroll across the green. Nestling between two National Parks it is ideal for exploring the Dales and Moors of North Yorkshire. There are many places of interest in the area and close by Thorpe Perrow Arboretum has an abundance of pretty wild flower filled woodland walks and a tea room whilst fishing, golf and riding are available locally. Bedale has a good selection of individual shops and restaurants whilst the market towns of Leyburn, Thirsk and Northallerton each with their own unique charm are a short drive away.

The Pennine Bridleway is a new 350 mile long National Trail in the North of England.


Reeth, in the heart of Swaledale is a honey pot for locals and tourists. It lies where two of North Yorkshire's finest dales meet.
