Situated in an elevated position, the cottage overlooks the garden and wildlife lake, attracting many species of birds and animals with footpath walks meandering through the grounds and around the lake. About the local area

Woodhall is situated some 2 1/2 miles from the pretty Dales village of Askrigg, known for its connections with James Herriot in the TV series of All Creatures Great and Small, and approximately 4 miles from Aysgarth Falls complete with visitor centre, waterfall walks and stunning scenery.
The bustling market towns of Leyburn and Hawes are easily accessible offering a good selection of shops, pubs, tea rooms and craft work shops. In Leyburn, the tea pottery and chocolate factory are well worth a visit, whilst Hawes hosts the Wensleydale Creamery, Rope makers and Dales Countryside Museum. History enthusiasts will appreciate the Castles & Abbeys in Richmond, Middleham, Jervaulx and Castle Bolton.
