Nosters Cottage offers guests a warm welcome, in the picturesque hamlet of Nosterfield, situated between Bedale and Ripon. Sitting just off the village green this beautiful semi-detached cottage retains its original features yet oozes comfort and style. A luxurious and perfectly equipped cottage catering for your every need. Tastefully decorated with your comfort in mind, the owners have added many thoughtful extras. A shaker style open plan kitchen and stylish breakfast bar make for a sociable place to gather, with an open plan living room setting the scene for your relaxing stay, with comfortable sofas and attractive soft furnishings. Externally is a small decked area with bistro furniture providing a lovely little spot to take in the views over the countryside while enjoying an early breakfast or a glass of wine at the end of the day. There’s free Wi-Fi throughout and three smart televisions ensuring entertainment in every room. Downstairs are two bedrooms with kingsize beds, and crisp cotton sheets ensuring a good nights sleep, and with curved smart TVs in both rooms to stream and watch your favourite programmes or listen to your favourite sounds. A fully tiled shower room with luxury toiletries and fluffy towels is also equipped with a blue tooth mirror allowing guests to stream music while they sing in the shower! A complimentary welcome drink awaits in the neighbouring local inn, a stylish and welcoming country inn serving excellent food. This too makes a perfect choice for a romantic meal or special celebration.
Get out and about and enjoy the stunning North Yorkshire countryside, with so much to see and do right on the doorstep, and activities appealing to the whole family. Located less than a mile from the cottage is Nosterfield Nature Reserve with 150 acres of wet grassland, open water and underlying magnesium limestone, and is also North Yorkshire’s premier wetland grassland. There is plenty to see at the reserve such as watching wildlife up close from the purpose-built hides. Spend a relaxing afternoon at the tranquil Fountains Abbey, and discover the awe-inspiring water garden at this World Heritage Site. At nearby Thorpe Perrow explore the gardens and arboretum where children can enjoy the adventure play area and birds of prey. There’s something for all the family at Lightwater Valley; from indoor play for young visitors to thrilling rides and roller coasters for the more adventurous! A tourist attraction unlike any other, The Forbidden Corner is a unique experience for the whole family with a labyrinth of tunnels, chambers, follies and surprises, in a four-acre garden in the heart of Tupgill Park and sure to provide hours of entertainment and fun! About the local area

It's given its name to one of Britain's finest cheeses, but Wensleydale has so much more to offer. This is the valley of the River Ure, part of the Yorkshire Dales National Park and a popular destination for walkers and hikers.

As well as the rolling landscape of the valley itself, Wensleydale is overlooked by the distinctive flat- topped hill of Addlebrough, above the village of Bainbridge and Penhill, which stands guard over Leyburn. Wensleydale's dramatic scenery is dotted with ancient towns and villages, offering a great range of shops, pubs and tea rooms.

Hawes, at the head of the valley, is the centre of the famous cheese-making industry as well as rope- making, while Hardraw is home to Hardraw Force, one of the highest waterfalls in England.

At Aysgarth, the River Ure tumbles down a limestone staircase at the beauty spot known as Aysgarth Falls.

There are many other fascinating towns and villages in the valley; hidden treasures abound as the Ure flows eastwards. Middleham, with its castle, was the childhood home of Richard III while at West Burton, you can visit the famous Cat Pottery.

Although a walker's paradise, tired feet can let the train take the strain with a trip on the Wensleydale Railway. Heritage steam and diesel trains run along 17 miles of line between Redmire and Leeming Bar at the eastern end of the dale.

Don't forget the famous Buttertubs Pass, a great walk that leads from Hawes and Hardraw, over a high moorland pass and down to neighbouring Swaledale.

Wensleydale Creamery

Receiving over 270,000 visitors each year, the Wensleydale Creamery Visitors Centre incorporates a museum, viewing gallery, specialist cheese shop and fully licensed restaurant.

Pennine Bridleway - Horse Riding

The Pennine Bridleway is a new 350 mile long National Trail in the North of England.


Reeth, in the heart of Swaledale is a honey pot for locals and tourists. It lies where two of North Yorkshire's finest dales meet.

Bolton Castle

Completed in 1399, Bolton Castle has a rich past including connections with Richard III and Mary Queen of Scots who was imprisoned here in 1568 under orders from Elizabeth I. Open all year round.
