Enjoying an elevated view through the arched chapel windows to the village green and hills beyond, this property offers sumptuous and extremely well equipped accommodation. Lots of thoughtful extras have been included to make your stay a memorable one. The ground floor includes a double bedroom with Sky TV, separate shower room with integrated Bluetooth and shaver points, perfect for elderly or less mobile guests. With patio doors from the bedroom onto the seating area with garden furniture which really is ideal.

The first floor opens onto a light and airy living room with dining space. Comfortable sofas nestle round a cosy wood burner. With Smart TV with Sky to binge watch your box-sets and Amazon Echo to listen to music, your entertainment is taken care of. Budding chefs will love to head for the stylish, handmade grey shaker style kitchen finished in subtle Farrow and Ball colours with white granite worktops, it’s a dream to cook in with all mod cons on hand. On the second floor the bedrooms are luxurious with arched windows and variety of sleeping arrangements to accommodate couples, families or groups of friends. There’s also a luxurious bathroom with contemporary double ended bath and rainforest shower, marble tiled floor and fluffy towels to keep you pampered, along with a Velux window to star gaze at night and a heated Bluetooth mirror to play your music!

Outside the village green beckons, a pretty little spot to take out the deck chairs, picnic hamper, bottle of wine and watch the world go by, while children prefer to head across the green to the well-equipped play area. Out and about and in all directions you will find so much to fill your days. Nearby Hawes is a market town filled with interesting shops selling local produce, gifts, arts and antiques. The Wensleydale Creamery made famous by the Wallace and Gromit animated series is a worthy visit with museum, viewing gallery, specialist cheese shop and fully licensed restaurant. Along the route back to Leyburn you will pass through a multitude of picture postcard villages and historical attractions. Visit Aysgarth Falls, Bolton Castle, The Forbidden Corner near Middleham, complete with follies and surprises, tunnels and chambers all set within a fabulous 4 acre garden, a prefect day out for families. Take the steam train through the picturesque Yorkshire Dales from the station at Redmire or sit in the cobbled square in Middleham and watch the race horses as they journey each day up to the gallops. Shop, pub and restaurant 200 yards.

About the local area

It's given its name to one of Britain's finest cheeses, but Wensleydale has so much more to offer. This is the valley of the River Ure, part of the Yorkshire Dales National Park and a popular destination for walkers and hikers.

As well as the rolling landscape of the valley itself, Wensleydale is overlooked by the distinctive flat- topped hill of Addlebrough, above the village of Bainbridge and Penhill, which stands guard over Leyburn. Wensleydale's dramatic scenery is dotted with ancient towns and villages, offering a great range of shops, pubs and tea rooms.

Hawes, at the head of the valley, is the centre of the famous cheese-making industry as well as rope- making, while Hardraw is home to Hardraw Force, one of the highest waterfalls in England.

At Aysgarth, the River Ure tumbles down a limestone staircase at the beauty spot known as Aysgarth Falls.

There are many other fascinating towns and villages in the valley; hidden treasures abound as the Ure flows eastwards. Middleham, with its castle, was the childhood home of Richard III while at West Burton, you can visit the famous Cat Pottery.

Although a walker's paradise, tired feet can let the train take the strain with a trip on the Wensleydale Railway. Heritage steam and diesel trains run along 17 miles of line between Redmire and Leeming Bar at the eastern end of the dale.

Don't forget the famous Buttertubs Pass, a great walk that leads from Hawes and Hardraw, over a high moorland pass and down to neighbouring Swaledale.

Receiving over 270,000 visitors each year, the Wensleydale Creamery Visitors Centre incorporates a museum, viewing gallery, specialist cheese shop and fully licensed restaurant.

Pennine Bridleway - Horse Riding

The Pennine Bridleway is a new 350 mile long National Trail in the North of England.


Reeth, in the heart of Swaledale is a honey pot for locals and tourists. It lies where two of North Yorkshire's finest dales meet.
