Thwaite Bridge Cottage is a 17th Century farmhouse nestling in a rural setting alongside the River Ure just three miles from the market town of Hawes in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Imaginatively converted and retaining many original features and open fires, complemented with high quality furnishings it is a truly delightful spacious country cottage for couples, families or a group of friends. Set within the grounds of the owner’s sheep farm and surrounded by stunning countryside it is in an excellent location for walkers, cyclists, artists and photographers. The garden is ideal for relaxing after a day exploring the picturesque stone villages and towns in this secluded valley and you may even spot the red squirrels.

Garden with garden furniture. Private parking for 4 cars. 2 dogs welcome, to be kept on a lead on the owner’s land. Dog cage and basket. No/limited mobile signal in and around the property.

Wensleydale is the most northerly of the Yorkshire Dales, renowned for its natural landscapes and magnificent waterfalls. Enjoy a drive across the Buttertubs Pass into neighbouring Swaledale or the Settle-Carlisle Railway can be joined at nearby Garsdale passing through spectacular scenery on its journey. Further down the dale Hardraw Force, Aysgarth Falls and Edwardian Rock Garden and Semer Water Lake each offer their own unique unspoilt beauty. Hawes has an excellent choice of pubs, shops, tea rooms, restaurants and specialist shops along with the famous Wensleydale Creamery and Visitor Centre. For those wishing to explore further afield The Lake District is within easy driving distance.
